Responsibilities & Bio
Lainie and I fell in love with Molokai the first time we visited in 2010 and purchased our condo before going home. We love coming here and always enjoy the beauty, friends, and charm of the island. My career was in residential cabinet manufacturing for 43 years with the last 20 plus as President/CEO of a large company. I’ve served on many boards in the private sector, condo associations and nonprofits. I retired the last day of 2016 and immediately got on a plane for Molokai!
We have been married for over 50 years and have 7 children and 18 grandchildren. Most all of them have been to Molokai and one of our greatest joys is bringing them here. Our hobbies are boating, quilting, traveling, boating some more, visiting family, and boating some more. And of course, coming to Molokai.

Chairman of the Landscape Committee
Spencer Burk, MD, and his wife, Ginger, first came to Molokai on their honeymoon in 2015, staying at Kepuhi Beach Resort. They were immediately drawn to the island’s rustic beauty and peaceful spirit and love the quiet, peace, and serenity that Molokai offers. Having lived in Hawaiʻi for several college years, Spencer came to appreciate how special and distinct Molokai — and Kepuhi in particular — are within the islands. Over time, they decided to make Kepuhi a more permanent part of their lives and became owners this past year, excited for the years ahead.
Spencer is a physician in Florida and served in the U.S. Navy. During his service, he also served on the board of a 189-unit HOA community, helping guide pool and landscape improvements. Ginger is an opera singer who will be performing this year in Miami, Italy, and London. Together, they are grateful to be part of the KBR ohana and are excited to serve the community.

Buildings and Maintenance
Joanne and I first visited Molokai and Kepuhi Beach Resort (KBR) in 2018, and we immediately fell in love with the island and the community here. We purchased our condo in 2021 and have truly enjoyed being part of KBR and making wonderful friends on Molokai.
Now that I am fully retired, I am pleased to accept the invitation to serve on the Board of Directors for Kepuhi Beach Resort.
With over 40 years of experience in various roles within the construction industry, as well as owning a woodworking company in California for 29 years, I naturally felt drawn to the Buildings and Maintenance position on the board at KBR. I am looking forward to collaborating with the rest of the Board of Directors, KBR's Manager, as well as my fellow homeowners to help maintain and enhance our beautiful community by the sea.
